SOU Defeats Humboldt St. to Move to 1-1
SOU defeated Humboldt St. 23-5 on Saturday at home. SOU gave up the first goal of the game on a well executed fast break by Humboldt (WCLL-D2). That would be Humbodlts only lead of the day as SOU scored the next 5 goals to end the 1st up 5-1. The 2nd qt. was closer as SOU put in 3 while Humboldt put in 2 goals even though SOU outshot Humboldt 11-7. SOU's offense really started to click in the 2nd half as we put in 11 goals on 20 shots to head into the final qt. up 19-5. SOU held Humboldt scoreless for the final qt while putting in 4 goals. Everyone got to see substantial playing time in this game. Congrats to Freshmen #24 Cal Christenen, #8 Andrew McKay, and #20 Tucker VanMatre for their first career goals. Freshmen #50 tallied his first career assist w/ nice feed in the 4th. Next up is a tough weekend on the road against two ranked teams in Western Washington and Westminster (RMLC D2).
