SOU finishes regular season at 13-1 by defeating Willamette 11-4
SOU travelled to Salem, OR to take on Willamette U. on Saturday in our final regular season game. SOU controlled the ball for the vast majority of the 1st period but only managed to score 1 goal as Willamette's freshman goalie had a great day w/ 21 saves total. SOU starting shooting better in the 2nd to lead 5-2 at the half. WU came out of halftime and scored on a fast break to cut the score to 5-3. As we've done all year, except against Fullerton, when the game is on the line we shut down on the defensive end and put the game away on the offensive end. Saturday was on exception as we outscored WU 6-1 the rest of the way. SOU was again led by Sr. Captain #20 Alex White who scored 4 goals and handed out 2 assists. Sr. Goalie #29 was solid in cage again only allowing 4 goals on the day. SOU was honored to be able to present Scott Charlson's family (our teammate who died fighting fires last summer) w/ his jersey's framed and the game ball from our first win ever as a program.
