SOU goes undefeated at home with 18-0 defeat of PortlandApr. 12, 2009 It was only appropriate that our two seniors led the way on Sr. Day. Sr. #29 Zach Baumann recorded his first career shutout in goal while Sr. Attack #20 Alex White scored 4 goals and dished out 4 assists to lead the Raiders. SOU dominated all facets of the game today which led to a huge discrepancy in time of possession. The only thing SOU couldn't do that well in the first half was put our shots on cage so we went into the half leading 6-0. The 2nd half was quite different offensively as we scored 3 goals in the first 3 minutes of the 3rd and 6 total to go up 12-0 going into the final period. Freshman #9 Wyatt Knight scored 4 goals filling in on attack for #6 VanEgdom who left the game early in the first half. Freshman midfielder #15 Forrest Brooks contributed 3 goals while another freshman, LSM #42 Joey Moseanko, added 2 assists off of solid groundball play and clearing. Sophmore midfielder #7 Mike Hughes added 2 goals to make his w/e total 4 goals more than he had scored all season. The close defense of Jr. #17 Joe Robert, So. #18 Jack Pfeiffer, and Fr. #37 Matt Kegel really limited Portland from many good looks at the cage. The win moves SOU to 12-1 on they year, was our first shutout in history, earned us the PNCLL D2 South title which gives us a first round bye in the upcoming league playoffs. Here's to you Scotty!!
