SOU starts spring break trip w/ a win at UC Santa Cruz 13-9
SOU defeated the Santa Cruz Banana Slugs (#10 in MCLA poll, #21 in collegelax poll) on the road 13-9 to start our spring break. SOU was led by two Jr. Attack man in the first half; #6 Bubba VanEgdom who won 10 of 11 first half f/o's, scored one goal and assisted on 5 in the first half alone, while #1 Tyler Baumann scored 4 of our 8 first half goals. Bubba continued to control the f/o X winning 16 of 20 overall. Our defense did a solid job containing UCSC's two prolific scorers in #10 Murillo and #11 Jaffe. Sophmore #18 Jack Pfeiffer held #10 Murillo to two goals while a multitude of players contained SC's leading scrorer holding him to only 1 goal. Our back-up goalie #13 Greg Morelli had another solid performance w/ 15 saves. Game ball went to #1 Tyler Baumann for playing w/ an injured leg and still putting in 5 goals. He showed tremendous heart and effort. With the win SOU moves to 8-1 on the year. Here's to you Scotty!!!
