SOU off to Best Start Ever
SOU defeated Pacific Lutheran University in Ashland on Saturday 14-9 to move to 6-0 on the season. SOU continued our winning ways by controlling the time-of-possession again. We jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one qt. of play. PLU showed tremendous heart out-scoring SOU 5-2 in the 2nd to make it 6-5 at the half. In the third SOU showed championship caliber mentality. PLU tied the game 8-8 and then we went on a 6-0 run over the next qt. and a half to lead 14-8. PLU scored their final goal w/ under a minute to go in the game to make the final 14-9. We controlled the f/o x again winning 19 of 25 face-offs, #6 won 15 of 19, #9 went 3/3, and #14 was 1/2. Our special teams were solid also w/ our MDD going 2-2 and our EMO scoring on 5 of 8 attempts. The attack led the way on offense w/ #6 scoring 4 g and 4 assists, #1 2g, 5a, and #20 3g, 2a. Game ball went to freshman LSM #42 Joey Moseanko for his solid GB and clearing play.
