SOU Comes From Behind to Defeat San Jose St.Mar. 2, 2019 San Jose, CA- SOU Men's Lacrosse travelled to San Jose St for the programs first ever game in a NCAA D1 Football Stadium. San Jose struck first with a long pole goal by #21 on their first possession of the game. SOU Junior Attack #00 Connor Mason answered for the Raiders with back to back unassisted goals, the 2nd one by way of picking off SJSU goalies pass and scoring. Sophomore Midfielder #31 Colin Frank was assisted by Freshman #17 Mili Rivas to put the Radiers up 3-1. SJSU would answer with one to make the score 3-2 at the end of the first. SJSU opened the 2nd qt. with a quick goal but the rest of the qt. belonged to the Raiders who scored 5 unanswered to take an 8-3 halftime lead. SJSU responded by outscoring the Raiders 6-1 in the 3rd to lead the game 10-9 going into the 4th. The Spartans extended their lead to 11-9 while SOU was Man down. That would be their final goal as SOU rallied scoring 5 straight to win the game 14-11. Freshman #17 Rivas scored his first career goal ending up with 2 goals and 2 assists. Freshman #8 Melcher got his first career points tallying 2 assists. Junior #00 Mason led the Raiders scoring with 7 goals. Game ball went to Junior #1 Morris who won 20/27 face-offs, picked up 16 GB's, caused 6 turnovers, dished out 2 assists, and scored 2 goals. The win moves SOU to 2-0 on the season.
