SOU Takes Down Humboldt St. 13-5
Redding, CA- The Raiders traveled to Redding, CA to take part in their annual Lacrosse Jamboree this weekend. First up were the Hogs from Humboldt St. The first half was dominated by the Raiders and #94 Connor Mason in particular who scored 5 of his 6 goals in the first half. #2 Auberon Dones tallied the Raiders other goal of the half while the Defense posted a shut out until very late in the half when Humboldt scored their first goal making the score 6-1 at the half. The Raiders man down defense was strong throughout the contest not allowing a goal on 3 opportunities for Humboldt. Freshman Goalie #24 Cameron Saechao had another stellar day making 14 saves with a 74% save percentage. Sophomore defense man #3 James Cory led the defense in caused turnovers creating three. The 2nd half was a much more balanced offense for SOU as 5 different Raiders tallied the teams 7 2nd half goals. The defense only allowed 1 goal in the 3rd quarter but then gave up 3 in the 4th including a goal which went in right as the game ended. The final score was 13-5 as the Raiders posted their 3rd victory of the season. Game ball went to #94 Connor Mason who scored 6 goals and handed out 1 assist. Next up for the Raiders is the #7 team in the Nation Cal.St. Fullerton.
