SOU Defeats Portland in OT Thriller!Mar. 7, 2017 Ashland, OR- The SOU Men's Lacrosse Team had their first home game on Saturday night after starting the season with 4 games on the road. PNCLL South Divsion foes the Portland Pilots came to Ashland for a contest which will likely have playoff implications. What a battle it was. The game consisted of 5 lead changes and 9 ties. Portland would strike on their first possession breaking down the SOU defense to go up 1-0. #29 Spencer Pregal caused a turnover for the Raiders d-sticking a Pilot while riding, #17 Garrett Greenway scooped up the GB and buried it in the empty net. The game would continue to go back and forth with neither team able to take more than a one goal lead. The Raiders found themselves down one goal with under a minute to go. Off of a Raider timeout #29 notched his 4th goal of the game to send it into overtime. Portland would win the OT face-off and generated a great shot which SOU's Goalie #26 Zack Kowalski saved to keep the Raiders alive. On the following possession, SOU Sr. Captain #7 Feldman beat his man and ended the game as he slipped a shot 5 hole past the Pilots Goalie. Game ball went to Sophmore Attack #17- Greenway for his 3 goals and 2 assists on only 4 shots. The win moves SOU to 4-1 on the season on 1-0 in the PNCLL South Division. Next up is a rematch of last years PNCLL Semi-Finals as SOU takes on Western Washington University at Tualatin HS outside of Portland Saturday at 1pm.
