SOU traveled to Caldwell, ID to take on the Yotes for their 2nd straight PNCLL South Divisional Game on Sunday.

Neither team would find the back of the net until halfway through the 1st qt. when Sr. Captain #26 Scott Murphy found #29 Spencer Pregal in transition putting the Raiders up 1-0.  #22 David Mungeam followed that by passing to Sr. Captain #57 Ian Wilborn cutting across the cage to put the Raiders up 2-0.  The Raiders Defense held the Yotes off of the scoreboard in the first including stopping an EMO attempt.

College of Idaho struck first in the 2nd qt. as #14 dodged to the cage scoring unassisted.  Freshman #1 Andre Morris answered for the Raiders with his own dodge making the score 3-1.  #29 Pregal would strike again off of a set play for the Raiders as #22 Mungeam tallied another assist.  #14 would answer again for the Yotes followed by two more from #7 to tie the game at 4-4.  The half ended with Sr. Goalie #14 Connor Kelley making 3 doorstep saves in under 10 seconds to keep the game even at the half.

The Yotes dominated the 3rd qt putting in 3 goals, including one on EMO, while shutting out the Raiders offense only allowing 3 shots on goal.

The Raiders started the 4th Man Down again but held strong.  The Raiders Man Down unit went 7/8 on the day.  With their backs against the wall, many Raiders playing hurt, and playing Man Down 7 times before the Yotes were called for a penalty, the Raiders proved their mental and physical toughness.  #22 Mungeam scored after being released from the penalty box as #57 Wilborn found him open in transition.  #7 would answer again for the Yotes making the score 8-5.  With 7 minutes to go in the game #4 Ari Feldman put one in for the Raiders to pull them within two goals.  One minute later #29 Pregal would strike again on a feed from #26 Murphy.  Having been called for no penalities until the 4th qt. it was the Raiders EMO that did the Yotes in.  Freshman #1 Morris drew a 2 min non-releasable foul while fighting for a groundball with under 20 seconds to go in the game.  The Raiders would convert with just 5 seconds to go in the game as #29 Pregal found #4 Feldman to tie the game.

Since the penalty was non-releasable the Raiders were extra man for OT.  The Yotes Goalie came up with a huge save but then turned the ball back over to the Raiders.  #29 Pregal would not let the 2nd chance go to waste as he ripped the game winner past the Yotes Goalie.

SOU's Defense was stout for most of the day causing 18 turnovers.  The Game Ball went to Sr. Goalie #14 Kelley who recorded 20 saves on the day, many of which were from point blank range.

With the Win the Raiders improve to 9-2 on the season and 2-0 in the PNCLL South Division.  Next up the Raiders travel to Portland to take on the Pilots Sunday at 1pm.  A Raiders win would secure them a playoff spot while the Pilots must win to have any chance of making the playoffs.  Last years game the Raiders won by 1 goal so this game should be a good one.
