SOU Returns From CA 3-0 After Dominate 2nd HalfsFeb. 19, 2016 SOU kicked off the weekend at San Jose St. SOU outshot SJSU 26-11 in the first half only to be tied 2-2 as SJSU's goalie recorded 19 saves on the day. Special teams would play a big part in the Raiders success as Jr. Harley Humphrey won 10 face-offs while only losing 4. Sr. Goalie Connor Kelley recorded 12 saves while only giving up 3 goals. SOU's Man-Down unit stopped 5 of 6 SJSU attempts. SOU's defense shut out SJSU for 2 of the 4 quarters. SOU scored 3 goals to start off the 3rd qt to take a 5-2 lead before SJSU answered at the end of the 3rd. SOU dominated the 4th qt. outshooting SJSU 19-2, putting 3 more goals in to win 8-3. SOU's offense was balanced with 7 players recording goals or assists. Sunday SOU headed to Stockton, CA to take on a much improved Pacific squad. SOU found themselves tied again at half this time by the count of 4-4. SOU handled the adversity of losing 3 players to injuries to the very physical Pacific squad by outscoring Pacific 6-3 in the 3rd period. SOU would add 2 more goals in the 4th while shutting Pacific out to win the game 12-7. Again it was a balanced offense for the Raiders as 8 players tallied points led by 2 attack men; Sr. Captain #26 Scott Murphy and So. Attack #29 Spencer Pregal, both scoring 3 goals and dishing out 2 assists. SOU heads back to CA this weekend for a first ever matchup with the University of San Francisco on Saturday followed by a game vs. UC-Santa Cruz.
