After 10 Seasons of SOU Lacrosse the Team of the Decade is AnnouncedNov. 18, 2014 SOU Men's Lacrosse Started back in 2004 when a group of Lax enthusiasts decided to make it happen. 11 Years later the Team has completed 10 Full Seasons as a Member of the PNCLL (Pacific NW Collegiate Lacrosse League) and the MCLA (Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association) so it is time for the Inaugural TEAM OF THE DECADE! The Captains: #43 Scott Charlson (2008)- Scotty was a member of the original Team in 2005. While preparing for His Sr. Season working as a Firefighter for GreyBack Forestry Scotty tragically died in a Helicopter Crash on August 5th, 2008 in the California Trinity Alps fighting what is known as the Iron Complex Fire. #43 has never been worn by a SOU Lacrosse Player since. Scotty enveloped everything that SOU Lacrosse is about; Honesty, Loyalty, Family, Hard Work, and Passion. "Just Living the Dream!!!" You will never be forgotten Scotty!! #27- Kyle Chrisman (2006)- Kyle is known as the "Godfather" of SOU Lacrosse as He and his former roommate Tyler Baumann spearheaded the movement to have a team at SOU. Kyle was the one who went and applied for SOU to join the PNCLL for the 2005 season. Since then there has been no looking back. Since Graduating SOU in 2006 Kyle has dedicated himself to Growing the Game of Lacrosse working for the Portland LumberJax, Rhino Lax, BigFoot Lax, and Coaching at Lake Oswego HS. Goalie: #7 Carter Boggess (2011)- Without a doubt SOU's most impressive Goalie of the first Decade. Carter earned All-PNCLL Honors every year that he played including 2010 PNCLL Defensive Player of the Year and 2011 MCLA All-American. Carter has continued to support the Team by Coaching the SOU Goalies for the past 3 seasons. Close Defense: #1 Dan Snell (2008)- Another Member of the Original 2005 Team, Dan Snell is arguably the most intimidating Defense Man to play in the PNCLL. Dan earned 1st All American in 2008, 2nd Team AA in 2007, and was the PNCLL Defensive Player of the Year twice. #18- Jack Pfeiffer (2011)- Jack maybe the nicest guy to ever be such a great Defender. Jack earned MCLA All-American in 2011 and was a 3 Time All PNCLL Defender. Jack has continues to give back to the Team by being an Asst. Coach for the past 3 years. #44- Justin Cooper (2014)- Coop came to SOU as an Attackman in 2011. Coop showed why He ended up being a 2-Time Captain of SOU Lax when he was willing to switch to Defense in his 3rd Season although He wanted to remain on Attack, He is a Team Player. Coop was named to the 1st Team All PNCLL Defense in 2014 after a Season which saw him score 3 Goals in one Game playing Defense (a SOU record) vs. St. Mary's. LSM: #42- Joey Moseanko (2012)- Joey came to SOU from Davis, CA as a LSM, the position He Earned All PNCLL as a Freshman. Joey moved to Attack for the next two seasons to help out the Team. In his Final Season he returned to Defense where He was Named PNCLL Defensive Player of the Year. Joey continues to give back to the game by Coaching at his Alma Mater Davis High School and for Select Teams in the Bay Area. Face-Off: #6 Lawrence "Bubba" VanEgdom (2010)- Bubba came to SOU having never played the sport of Lacrosse before, after 4 years He was a 2 Time All-American at Face-Off. He wasn't just a FOS though, Bubba tallied 110 goals and 43 Assists in his career and was a 2 time 1st Team All-PNCLL performer. Midfield: #11 Sean "Lump" McQouwn (2012)- Lump came to SOU from Tuscon, AZ having never visited Oregon or the School, sometimes you just get lucky. After demonstrating His Passion, Leadership skills, and Work Ethic, Lump was elected Captain for His Sophmore Year. Unfortunately He broke a Collar Bone that year. He gained a Medical Redshirt Year and was Elected Captain 3 more times making Him SOU's only 4-Year Captain. Lump also earned All-PNCLL 3 years. #2 Patrick "The Destroyer" Verdun (2012)- Pat is another Guy who came to SOU having never played Lacrosse before. There aren't words to describe what it is like to have Pat on your team, you just have to be around him. His enthusiasm and personality can take over any situation. Pat scored 73 goals and 17 Assists in his SOU career and was also named to the All PNCLL Team. #4- Max Raynor (2013)- Max arrived to SOU from the SF Bay Area with not many Lacrosse Skills. He went on to improve himself more than any other player in SOU History to the point that opponents would shout out "lefty" even though He is right-handed. Max is SOU's first ever MCLA Scholar Athlete (Academic All-American); the most important Award in the MCLA. Max tallied 83 goals and 27 assists over His Career and was named to All PNCLL twice. #5- Nick "James" Reiten (2007)- Another member of the original team, Nick was a 2 Time Captain for SOU Lax. In his Sr. Season Nick tallied 32 goals and 21 Assists while being named All-PNCLL. Nick has continued to give back to the team in every possible way; filming, stats, playing during practices, etc. Attack: #20 Alex White (2009)- SOU's All Time Leading Point Scorer with 133 goals and 87 Assists.* Alex was named All-PNCLL for 3 years and All-American in 2009. Alex came to SOU as a Midfielder from West Linn,OR but truly shined once moved to Attack for the Raiders during his Sophmore Year. *= 236 points total w/ 16 points coming against non-MCLA teams. #13 Tom Halley (2014)- SOU's All Time Leading Goal Scorer with 154 Goals. Tom also dished out 64 Assists making 218 total points scored vs. MCLA teams. Tom earned All-PNCLL 3 years and was named a MCLA All-American in his Sr. Year. #21 Jameson Whitehead (2007)- Easily SOU's most dominant Player, possibly the PNCLL's. Jameson arrived at SOU from Buffalo, NY for the 2006 season and had the biggest impact on SOU LAX of any player ever. At 6'4'' and 240lbs Jameson instantly sent a message to the rest of the League. Although he only played in 22 games for SOU He tallied 84 goals and 43 assists= 5.77ppg. Jameson went on to play Professionally for the Portland LumberJax and Coquitlam Adirondacks after trying out for the NFL Buffalo Bills.
