#21 SOU Wins Two League Games on the RoadApr. 17, 2014 The SOU Men's Lacrosse Team qualified for the playoffs by defeating College of Idaho and Whitman College this past weekend. SOU travelled to Caldwell, ID defeating the College of Idaho 15-3. SOU was led by Sr. Captain #13 Tom Halley who delivered a 10 point game scoring 5 goals and dishing out 5 assists. SOU's defense was led by Sophmore Goalie #14 Connor Kelley who tallied 16 saves while only letting in 3 goals. The entire defense played well holding 2 of the Yotes top 3 scorers without a goal. The score was 11-2 at the half. Game ball went to Jr. #18 AJ Chase who tallied 4 goals, 1 assist, 2 GB's and rode like a mad man causing 4 turnovers. On Sunday Whitman College hosted SOU. The game was very physical and full of penality's. SOU played man down for 7 minutes of the first half, 9 and half minutes total. SOU's Man Down Defense was solid only allowing 1 goal on 9 attempts. The defense was led by Sr. Defenseman #9 Matt Kegel who caused 8 turnovers and grabbed 8 Ground balls. Sophmore Goalie #39 Josh Barnhart recorded 11 saves against 3 goals. Game ball went to Jr. Attack #17 Spencer Nix who tallied 4g and 1a. Next up for the Raiders is the final regular season game which will decide the PNCLL South Champions as Western Oregon comes to town. WOU comes into Ashland undefeated and ranked #7 in the Nation. The game will be held in Raider Stadium at 1pm on Saturday. Admission is free so come out and support your RaiderHawks!!
