Former North Carolina Head Coach Paul Doty Joins SOU Coaching Staff
SOU Men's Lacrosse team is extremely pleased to announce the addition of Paul Doty to the Coaching staff for the 2013-2014 season. Coach Doty was the Head Lax Coach for UNC from the Fall of 1973- Spring of 1978. While at the helm of the Tar Heels Coach Doty led UNC from a national ranking of 50th to #5 in the Nation and two consecutive top 10 seasons. Coach Doty also led UNC to their first two ever NCAA Tournament appearances and their first ever win against ACC foe UVA. Coach Doty coached the 1975 South team for the annual North South game. As a player at Denison University Coach Doty was a two-time All American Attack; 3rd team in '67 and 1st team in '68. Coach Doty still holds Denison's single season assist record with 46 and 10 in one game while remaining #2 in Denison's all time scoring leader. Coach Doty was named to Denison's All-Decade Team of the 60's and to their 60th Anniversary Team. Welcome to the Family!!
