Coach Paul Doty Enters Hall Of Fame - Jun 18, 2014

On June 7th, 2014 Coach Paul Doty was inducted into the Willistion Northhampton Athletic Hall of Fame.

Two SOU Players Earn All-America Awards - May 25, 2014

Seniors #9 Matt Kegel and #13 Tom Halley were selected to the MCLA All-America HM Team.

Kegel anchored the SOU Defense this Season always drawing the opponents best Attack player.  Kegel caused 40+ turnovers, collected over 30 ground balls, scored 2 goals, dished out 2 assists, while only ending up in the penalty box for 1:30 minutes. 

Halley led SOU's Offense this Season breaking SOU's All-Time Record for most goals scored in a Career at 154, 56 of which he scored this season, taking over the spot previously held by SOU All-American Alex White.  Halley finishes his Career at SOU #1 in goals scored, # 2 in points, #4 in PNCLL All-Time Goals scored, and #7 in PNCLL All-Time in Points scored.

Six Players and Coach Earn All-League Honors - May 5, 2014

Freshman #23 Taylor Harrsion and Sophmore Goalie #14 Connor Kelley earned Honorable Mention All PNCLL.

Sophmore FOS #11 Alex Smith was selected to the 2nd Team winning 139 of 189(73.5%) Face-offs taken.

Two Sr. Defense Men were selected to the PNCLL 1st Team; #44 Justin Cooper and #9 Matt Kegel. 

Sr. Attack #13 Tom Halley was selected to the PNCLL 1st Team Attack also.  Tom scored 56 goals this season while dishing out 21 assists.  Tom's 56 goals put him at 3rd in the League for goals scored this season, 4th All-Time in PNCLL for Goals scored, 1st All-Time for SOU Goals scored, and 2nd All-Time for total points scored for SOU. 

Congrats to all the players who received Awards and to their teammates who all helped them along the way.

Coach Mark Brown was Awarded Coach of the Year for his 3rd time in his 10 years Coaching SOU.  Credit to all the Players and Asst. Coaches who made this possible.

Great Season Raiders!! Looking forward to 2015. 


SOU Season Ends at the Hands of the WWU Vikings - May 4, 2014

For the 3rd straight Season WWU ends SOU's season in the PNCLL playoffs.  WWU defeated SOU 21-9 Saturday.  SOU finishes the season 12-4 just one season removed from their worst season ever going 4-10 in 2013.  This is easily the best turn around in SOU Lax History and the players deserve all the credit for stepping up their commitment to winning. 


SOU Advances to PNCLL Final Four - May 1, 2014

SOU defeated the University of Puget Sound at home in Raider Stadium 13-1 to advance in the PNCLL Playoffs.   Sr. Defensemen #9 Matt Kegel earned the game ball by playing solid defense, clearing well, and scoring a goal. 

SOU will take on #13 Western Washington University Saturday at 1pm at Tahoma High School in Covington, WA. 


#21 SOU Wins Two League Games on the Road - Apr 17, 2014

The SOU Men's Lacrosse Team qualified for the playoffs by defeating College of Idaho and Whitman College this past weekend. 

SOU travelled to Caldwell, ID defeating the College of Idaho 15-3.  SOU was led by Sr. Captain #13 Tom Halley who delivered a 10 point game scoring 5 goals and dishing out 5 assists.   SOU's defense was led by Sophmore Goalie #14 Connor Kelley who tallied 16 saves while only letting in 3 goals.  The entire defense played well holding 2 of the Yotes top 3 scorers without a goal.  The score was 11-2 at the half.  Game ball went to Jr. #18 AJ Chase who tallied 4 goals, 1 assist, 2 GB's and rode like a mad man causing 4 turnovers.

On Sunday Whitman College hosted SOU.  The game was very physical and full of penality's.  SOU played man down for 7 minutes of the first half, 9 and half minutes total.  SOU's Man Down Defense was solid only allowing 1 goal on 9 attempts.  The defense was led by Sr. Defenseman #9 Matt Kegel who caused 8 turnovers and grabbed 8 Ground balls.  Sophmore Goalie #39 Josh Barnhart recorded 11 saves against 3 goals.  Game ball went to Jr. Attack #17 Spencer Nix who tallied 4g and 1a. 

Next up for the Raiders is the final regular season game which will decide the PNCLL South Champions as Western Oregon comes to town.  WOU comes into Ashland undefeated and ranked #7 in the Nation.  The game will be held in Raider Stadium at 1pm on Saturday.  Admission is free so come out and support your RaiderHawks!!


SOU Goes 2-1 on Spring Break to Improve to 9-2 Overall - Mar 31, 2014
