Broncos defeat Bears.

Last weekend, the Broncos defeated the Cal Bears 16-6 for their season opener on Bellomy Field. Santa Clara was well represented with 8 different players putting up goals for the 10 goal differential.  Junior Captain Burke, Maggie and Sophomore Midfielder Dermody, Kathleen both had 4 goals each. Senior Captain Attacker Pestana, Maria had 4 assists and a goal herself. The new members of the Bronco family were led by Freshman Midfielder Kilsby, Dana, who contributed a hat trick to her first game as a Bronco, and Freshman Goalie Herzog, Jenna, who added the first 9 saves to her career record. Overall, it was great first game on a sunny Santa Clara day. Thanks to all the fans who came out to support the team! Go Broncos!

Santa Clara will play Sonoma State this weekend on Saturday, Feb. 11th @ 11:00 on Bellomy Field.
