Colorado State, Colorado Pull WDIA Upsets

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Colorado State knocked off defending national champion Virginia Tech Club 14-7 and Colorado rallied for a 9-8 overtime victory against Georgia to highlight the opening day of the 2010 US Lacrosse Women's Division Intercollegiate Associates (WDIA) National Championship, presented by Harrow Sports.

Other opening day winners were Santa Clara, Lindenwood, UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis, Cal Poly and Brigham Young.

CSU, the No. 11 seed, took care of the sixth-seeded Hokies for the second time this season. The Rams won a 14-6 decision over the Hokies in the regular season. Leading the way was junior goalie Annette Greenberg. Greenberg made nine first half saves while allowing just one goal to stake the Rams to a 4-1 halftime lead. Greenberg finished the game with 11 saves.
