Santa Clara 4-0 at the UC Davis Playday

Bookmark and Share Printer Friendly Oct. 26, 2009

The Broncos went 4-0 at Sunday's annual UC Davis Fall Playday.  The tournament used to be named the Halloween tournament but in recent year's many, if not all, teams have lost the tradition of dressing up in costume to play in their games.  However, the Broncos continue to be the only team who year-over-year refuses to let the tradition die.  Rumor has it that there might have been a "Penguin" starting at attack for the Broncos in their first game of the day.  What usually is comic relief to start the day usually proves to be too hot to continue for the full-day of games.  Overall the Broncos played well as they defeated UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, Chico State and Cal Club on Sunday.  Santa Clara has two and half weeks of practice left before they wrap up Fall Ball with a scrimmage against post-collegiate club team BayLax on Nov 14th.
