Santa Clara Tops Bruins 16-4Feb. 24, 2008 On a rain soaked field that might as well have been mistaken for a swimming pool, Santa Clara defeated UCLA 16-4 to improve to an overall record of 6-1. The game would eventually turn into a sloppy turnover filled contest but the Broncos would get the job done early by jumping out to a 3-0 lead after only 55 seconds after the game's opening draw. UCLA answered the Broncos initial surge with a goal of their own by Kelle Quanne on a free-position shot with 21:42 remaining in the half. The Broncos led 9-1 at half and eventually move on to a 16-4 final. Junior defender, Margaux Chan, received the game ball for her strong performance on defense today. Senior captain, Lindsay Campbell, put in her strongest performance of the season today after scoring 5 goals and recording 1 assist. The Broncos (6-1) move on to play USC (2-5) this Saturday at 11:00 AM.
