In their second game of the day, Santa Clara came out flat during the opening 15 minutes of their game against Colorado State and went down 4-0 early. After an early timeout, the Broncos would rally back to score the next two goals and ulimately go into halftime trailing 4-2. The Broncos eventually found their rythmn in the second half as they continued to chip away at the Rams lead and eventually tie the game with 3:30 left off of a great feed from freshman Gracie Binder to senior Lindsay Campbell. One minute later, the Broncos took their first lead of the contest with a goal by sophomore Krista Shaw. The Rams answered the Broncos punch with a goal of their own with 1:34 remaining. With the score tied, CSU won the next draw and held the ball for the final shot of the game. As the clock ticked downward, Santa Clara packed it in tight, in a man to man defense, forcing the Rams to make their move inside of the Bronco defense. With 5 seconds left, the Rams drove inward to eventually feed the right side of cage. The CSU offender caught the feed and drove to the middle of the eight meter arc and finished a top right shot for the go ahead goal with 1/2 of one second remaining in the game.

Santa Clara moves on to play Texas A&M and Rhode Island tomorrow.
