Solid Goal Keeping Beats BYU

Santa Clara handed BYU their second loss of the Santa Barbara Shootout this morning with a convincing 11-1 victory. Freshman goalie Renee Eligio posted a stellar 91.6% save percentage and stopped eight of eight free position shots she faced. On offense, sophomore Jenna Choquette netted a career best five goals in one game, including two consecutive goals off of free position shots to finish the game. Santa Clara is now 3-0 on the season and will face Colorado State later this afternoon. Colorado State is coming off a tough 12-10 overtime loss to the UC Santa Barbara last night.
