Nationals Opening Round GameMay. 13, 2004 Eighth seed Santa Clara were the last women's team to arrive for this year's US Lacrosse Women's Division National Championships but that didn't stop the Broncos from becoming the first team to win in the first round. Santa Clara took down 9th seed Pittsburgh in the first game of the day 13-9. The Broncos didn't get to their hotel until one in the morning on Thursday after being delayed in their trip to St. Louis. Kendall Reedy led the Bronco attack with three goals scored. Pittsburgh's Jill Ciotta netted a hat trick of her own to lead the Panthers. Santa Clara is making their first appearance in the US Lacrosse WDIA National Championships. The Broncos now have the stern task of taking on top-seed Navy in the afternoon. Pittsburgh will play on Friday morning against 12th seed Oregon.
