Featuring Nihon University & Meiji University From Tokyo, Japan

The inaugural Santa Barbara International Friendship Games have been born from chance and idea. After four times taking American teams to Japan for the original International Friendship Games, hosted by the Japan Lacrosse Association (JLA), UCSB head coach Paul Ramsey has responded to requests from Nihon University and Meiji University to come to the United States for lacrosse games, friendship and touring. That was the chance, a meeting between Ramsey, the Nihon leadership and JLA International Coordinator Eri BrineShikanai Sugai in Japan. During the meeting Nihon team captains asked to come to Santa Barbara. That was the idea that led to this great opportunity for teams from around the world to play each other.
