Dixon Discusses PSU in "Tuesday Takeaways"
Here is what Mark Dixon of Inside Lacrosse had to say about the Nittany Lions in this week's "Tuesday Takeaways": What Happened: Penn State wins ninth in a row Takeaway: Is there any hotter team in college lacrosse than the Nittany Lions? Penn State ripped through the CAA and at 6-0 is the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament. At 2-3 Penn State was suffering from a lack of midfield scoring punch and inconsistent goaltending. Both of these areas have been remedied during this run. Middies Tom LaCrosse, Nick Dolik, and Kyle VanThof have elevated their games, taking pressure off of their productive attack unit and making this offense tougher to defend. Austin Kaut has put his shaky start aside and is playing at the level that made him a third-team All-American last season. His save percentage has climbed to an impressive 63%. With the success the Nittany Lions are in a new position: favorite, as in favorite to win the CAA AQ and win an NCAA playoff game for the first time in program history.
