Quint Breaks Down the CAA

Bookmark and Share Printer Friendly Apr. 19, 2013

Quint Kessenich recently wrote an article breaking down all the conference races for 2013. Here is what he had to say about the CAA and Penn State:

Favorite: Penn State

The Nittany Lions (9-3) have won seven straight and can earn home-field advantage for the league tournament with a victory at either Delaware or Hofstra. Their defense ranks No. 2 in the nation in front of goalie Austin Kaut (.621 save percentage). Coach Jeff Tambroni is on the shortlist for national Coach of the Year.

Contenders: Drexel, Hofstra

I don't see Towson (7-6) as a primary threat in the league tournament. Drexel (9-3) is explosive with Crofton native Ryan Belka, Ben McIntosh, Robert Church and Frank Fusco. Hofstra (7-5) leads the nation in goals-against average and upset Notre Dame but has lost four of its past six games.
