Penn State Featured in Tuesday Takeaways

Here is what Mark Dixon of Inside Lacrosse had to say about Penn State after its big win against Denver.

Takeaway: Coach Jeff Tambroni, now 7-3 against Bill Tierney since 2004, was not pleased with his team's offense in their 11-6 win over Michigan. The Nittany Lions shot only 19% against the Wolverines and came out flat. He was concerned about his team playing in an NFL stadium and national TV for the first time under his watch. Penn State responded by jumping out early and shot 36% en route to a big win over the Pioneers. What's more, Penn State dominated the third quarter, typically a period Denver owns and puts them in a position to win games. Penn State outscored the Pioneers 7-3 in the third and snuffed out all comeback attempts. The attack unit of Shane Sturgis, Jack Forster, and TJ Sanders combined to score 11 goals. Sturgis scored all four of his on dodges, showing his continual development as a dangerous scoring threat. This team was prepared and ready to play and it showed this past Sunday.
