Will Donley Earns Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award

Bookmark and Share Printer Friendly Jul. 23, 2011

Will Donley ('11) was recently honored as a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Recipient. Just 45 of Penn State's 800 student-athletes qualified for this high honor.

Established in 2008, The Distinguished Scholar Award was created to supplement the Academic All-Big Ten program. Similar to Academic All-Big Ten, Distinguished Scholars must be varsity letterwinners in at least their second year of eligibility. To earn Academic All-Big Ten, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. 17 Penn State lacrosse players received this honor in 2011. However, a Distinguished Scholar must have a minimum 3.7 GPA for the previous academic year. Will was the only Penn State lacrosse player to accomplish this in 2011.

Congratulations Will!
