Panthers Fall to Northeastern 8-9 in Triple OTMar. 29, 2013
The Pitt Men’s Lacrosse team fought a hard battle versus Northeastern, going into three, sudden death overtimes until Northeastern was able to connect with the goal, beating the Panthers 9-8. During this physical game, defender Max Carlson (#28) stepped up to fight off the opponent, ending the game with 5 groundballs. Midfielder Colin Peck (#49) also contributed to the Panthers both offensively and defensively, with 7 groundballs and several key plays throughout the game. Offensively, seniors Tyler Novotny (#14) and Joe Grmusa (#21), along with sophomore midfielder Matt Wolfe (#9), worked together to collectively contribute to all of Pitt’s eight goals. Unfortunately, Northeastern was able to win the battle during the third overtime, ending the game with the score 8-9, Northeastern. The Panthers travel to Michigan this weekend to take on Central Michigan and Michigan State.
