Pitt Opens Fallball with NCAA Scrimmages

Bookmark and Share Printer Friendly Oct. 16, 2012

Sunday was a lacrosse day in Wash County this past weekend. The Panthers opened up the 2012 Fall season with three scrimmages at Washington & Jefferson College last Sunday, October 14th. First, Pitt started the day off against NCAA DIII Mercyhurst Northeast, finishing with the score tied at 5. Next up was NCAA DII Ohio Valley U, who the Panthers edged out by one goal to end the scrimmage 6-5. The last game was against the home team, the Presidents of Washington & Jefferson College. Pitt capped off the day with a 6-4 victory.

"Similar to a butterfly emerging from a cocoon, or a newborn mare finding her feet, we looked a little hesitant at first. However, by the end of the day we got our systems firing on full cylinders, showing that we are indeed capable of growing into the valiant steed that is Pitt Lacrosse," commented an unusually analogy-prone Noah Rabin.
