OU Loses to SMU, Looks Forward to Home Opener - Mar 1, 2010 Last Friday in Dallas, TX, the Sooners were unable to make the statement they were hoping for as the SMU Mustangs proved why they are a perennial LSA power. The Sooners were unable to win face-offs consistently and had trouble securing the ball in transition, as they recorded their first offensive possession several minutes into the first quarter. Freshman attackman Pete Kitsos scored two goals in the first half, but the Mustang offense proved more effective eventually gaining
OU Defeated by SHSU in Close Finish in Huntsville, TX - Feb 21, 2010 This past Sunday, the Sooners took the field against the Sam Houston State Bearkats. The team opened the season last spring by beating Sam Houston State 19-8, but these Bearkats were unlike any previous squad the Sooners had ever faced; the day before the game, they defeated Baylor, a Division I program, by one goal. Oklahoma jumped to a 2-0 lead, but with yesterday’s news, they knew the game would not be business as usual
Sooners Travel to Houston, TX: Defeat Rice - Feb 21, 2010 For the Sooner team, this past weekend offered a mix of emotions on the field as they faced Rice and Sam Houston State in Houston and Huntsville, TX, respectively. The action started against Rice on Saturday afternoon. Taking a cue from their previous game against Hendrix, the Sooners limited the Owls’ offensive opportunities by playing solid defense and maintaining possession on offense, finishing a low-scoring half with a 4-1 lead
Oklahoma Falls to Hendrix in Spring Opener - Feb 16, 2010 Last weekend, the Oklahoma Sooners lacrosse team opened the spring season by traveling to Conway, Arkansas to play a scrimmage game against the Hendrix College Warriors, a Division III member of the NCAA. This was an important milestone for the Sooners as Hendrix College was the first NCAA opponent for the revived program. First game nerves were apparent as the Warriors scored a man-up goal within the first minute and quickly jumped to a 2-0 lead, but the Sooners responded with a three goal run.
