Assistant Coaches Sought - May 9, 2014
The University of Oklahoma Men's Lacrosse club (OU) is a member of the MCLA and competes in the LSA conference. The team is looking for multiple assistant coaches committed to not only continuing OU's rich history of athletic success but adding to the legacy as well.
Responsibilities: The assistant coach(es) will assist the head coach with all aspects of the program. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, recruiting, scouting, preparation for practices and games, supervising study halls, and any other responsibilities assigned by the head coach. The candidate(s) will be expected to take the role of offensive or defensive coordinator, depending on experience.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Experience as a lacrosse player at the collegiate or high school level required. Coaching experience at the club or high school level required, collegiate level preferred. Knowledge of the MCLA and the local lacrosse community is also a plus.
These positions will start out as voluntary work, but the lacrosse schedule works well with a standard day job. There are also opportunities to get involved with local youth lacrosse and assisting in the operation of lacrosse camps/clinics as another source of revenue.
The team practices five nights a week in the fall and spring season. The team plays a lengthy schedule during the spring which involves a good amount of traveling. Salary: Volunteer. Appointment: Part-Time, 9 months.
