Woolfolk Officially Signs With VMI
Yesterday, senior Rob Woolfolk officially signed with the Virginia Military Institute. Along with his family, Coach Whatley, Coach Cheney, and Athletic Director Doug Britten, Woolfolk was joined by his teammates as he took the next step towards his dream of playing at the next level. Woolfolk is the first lacrosse player for NAHS to accept a scholarship to play for a Division I program. Prior to making his decision, Woolfolk had also considered Mercer University as well as High Point University, but said that he decided on VMI after speaking with the coaches. The VMI lacrosse program plays in the Atlantic Sun Conference along with, among others, Mercer University and Furman University. The 2014 season will be the first season that the A-Sun Conference will have Men's Lacrosse. Prior to switching to the A-Sun, VMI played in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. According to its record books, VMI has had a lacrosse program since 1983.
