Former Middlebury College attacker Mimi Schatz has joined the Mission Lacrosse Club coaching staff. Coach Schatz played at Middlebury from 2005 to 2008 and earned her Bachelors in International Relations. As a decorated player at Middlebury she competed for legendary coach Missy Foote, now in the U.S. Lacrosse Hall Of Fame. Schatz led the Panthers in scoring her senior year with 61 points from 32 goals and 25 assists. Schatz played in four NCAA post-season tournaments for Middlebury and brings high level playing experience to Mission Lacrosse Club.

Schatz's coaching experience includes a stint at her alma mater, Bryn Mawr School, and as assistant coach at William Smith College 2008 to 2010. In 2010 she left college coaching to attend Boston University where she earned a Masters in Sports Psychology. Then from 2011 to 2013 she pursued and attained a Masters in Counseling Psychology at University of Denver. After some time working at RoundPegg in Boulder, Colorado Schatz returned to school at Turing School of Software & Design. With her fourth degree completed there Schatz moved to Santa Barbara, accepting a software engineer position at ProCore Technologies in Carptinteria in 2016.

It was while Coach Schatz was an assistant coach at William Smith she met Mission Lacrosse Club Director Paul Ramsey. Coach Schatz worked at his summer lacrosse camp at UCSB the summer of 2008 and interviewed to be an assistant coach at UCSB. Ramsey tried to entice Schatz to move across the country at that time but it was the ProCore position that helpe her decide to make the move eight years later. Schatz most recently coached in the local Santa Barbara Girls Lacrosse Association youth league working with the 12U girls in Montecito during the Spring of 2017. Coach Schatz is a native of Baltimore, Marlyland and played at Bryn Mawr under legendary coach Wendy Kridel, who, like Foote, is also in the U.S. Lacrosse Hall Of Fame.

"Mimi has agreed to start right away at our next practice," noted Ramsey, "and I look forward to introducing her to the girls and turning her loose."

Mission Lacrosse Club remains open for player registration through October 1st. Fall season details may be found by clicking here.
