Battle Of LA First Day

San Pedro, CA - Mission Blue finished pool play 2-1 and advanced to the semifinals at the Battle of LA today. They earned the second seed by virtue of a 6-4 win over Team Scream Black in the final pool play game of Saturday action. The reward is a match-up on Sunday morning with Team Scream Black. The winner of that contest will advance to play the winner of the LA Aces vs. Santa Monica Fire in the other semifinal.

Mission Orange, the youngest team in the club, played the tournament with many of the team in the first lacrosse game of their lives. Valuable experience was gained by everyone even though Orange finished 0-3 the first day. Their Sunday match up is with City LAX from Los Angeles, also 0-3, and it is for 4th place. Win or lose in anything on Sunday both Mission teams have made a good start to the summer season by traveling and playing together in a tournament setting.
