Inside Lacrosse Highlights Wolves' Baltimore Trip

Kilbourne's spring trip to Baltimore to take on Avon Old Farms and Western Reserve Academy is featured in Inside Lacrosse in an article entitled "Ohio Lacrosse Comes To Baltimore". Here is what IL's Molly Mita wrote about the Wolves:

In a tune-up for the regular season, several Ohio lacrosse high school powerhouses are headed to Baltimore for a round of games.

Buckeye power program Worthington Kilbourne will take on Connecticut's Avon Old Farms Saturday, March 27 before going head-to-head with Ohio rival Western Reserve Academy on Sunday, March 28.

Worthington Kilbourne’s head coach Drew May liked the idea of coming to Baltimore to showcase the teams and give some publicity to the Ohio schools, who he considered often overlooked. “I think Baltimore is recognized as a Mecca of lacrosse," says May. "When I was in high school we went [to Maryland] for the Jesuit Classic. It’s just a really good opportunity for the guys to show off their skills and it’s an opportunity to play the best lacrosse programs in the country.”

These three teams are certainly some of the best. Worthington Kilbourne takes the No. 5 spot on our Southeast ranking, The Western Reserve Academy No. 2, and Avon Old Farms No. 8 in our Northeast regional ranking (Connecticut).

Worthington Kilbourne plays Avon Old Farms Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s High School in Baltimore and Sunday vs Western Reserve Academy at Dianne Geppi Aikens Field on Loyola’s campus at 9:30 a.m.

These teams feature some of Ohio lacrosse’s top recruits- midfielders Will Campbell (Kilbourne) and Ben Mcintosh (Western Reserve) defenseman Nathan Klein (Western Reserve) and Kilbourne attackman Conor Igoe along with many other great players.

WRA will wrap up their second weekend Baltimore after going 0-2 against the Charm City competition. They lost a tough 14-9 game to St. Paul's (Md.) before losing 19-6 to Calvert Hall (Md.) on a quick turnaround game.

The schools hope to bring each other a lot of strong competition this weekend and are excited to open their season in Baltimore.
