Kilbourne's Jared Happ (center) celebrates with Luke LeVette (left) and Jake LeVette after scoring a goal against Thomas earlier this season. The Wolves play Toledo St. Francis de Sales in the Division II State Championship game on Saturday, June 4 at 1:00 pm at Thomas Worthington.

Luke LeVette scored seven goals to lead Worthington Kilbourne (13-10) past Summit Country Day (19-3) in a Division II semifinal at Centerville.“We kept our foot on the gas offensive and defensively,” coach Drew May said. “We didn’t want to take any chances and we wanted to take advantage of every single opportunity we had. The boys did a great job.”Jared Happ and Jack Maloney both scored three goals. Happ also had two assists and Chris Reynolds made seven saves for Kilbourne.

Kilbourne led 3-0 after one period and was ahead 6-0 midway into the second before Country Day scored. Kilbourne extended its lead to 9-1 at halftime and 14-2 through three quarters.

“We started hot and kept moving the ball and finding our teammates or finding some space to attack,” LeVette said. “This is very special to go to the finals.”The Wolves will play Toledo St. Francis (20-2) in state final at 1 p.m. Saturday at Thomas Worthington. Kilbourne won the Division I title in 2009 and was runner-up in 2011.
