Kilbourne Boys Reach Regional Semifinal

 

The third-seeded Kilbourne boys team played at second-seeded Dublin Scioto in a Division II Central Region semifinal May 25.

The winner plays at top-seeded DeSales or fifth-seeded St. Charles in a regional final Saturday, May 28. Kilbourne defeated the Stallions 10-6 on April 12 and beat the Cardinals 13-6 on April 30.

The regional champion faces Cincinnati Indian Hill, Cincinnati Seven Hills, Middletown Fenwick or Summit Country Day in a state semifinal Wednesday, June 1, at Centerville. The state final is June 4 at Thomas.

Kilbourne did not play any of the potential state semifinal opponents during the regular season.

The Wolves rolled through the first two rounds of the regional tournament with home wins over 14th-seeded Dayton Miami Valley School (24-2 on May 19) and seventh-seeded Kettering Alter (19-2 on May 21) to improve to 10-10.

Against Miami Valley School, Jake LeVette had six goals, Garrett McCarthy scored five, Luke LeVette scored three and Ryan Wesolowski and Jake Weirick both scored two.

Against Alter, Luke LeVette had five goals, Weirick scored three and McCarthy and Jared Happ both scored two.
