Wolves Boys Reach Regional Semi

The Worthington Kilbourne High School boys lacrosse team opened the Division I Central Region tournament with an 11-0 win over 17th-seeded Olentangy Orange in a second-round game May 23.

Jared Happ and Tyler Roe both had three goals, Jake Weirick scored two and goalkeeper Chris Reynolds had nine saves for the host Wolves, who are seeded second and had a first-round bye.

Kilbourne was 15-4 before playing fifth-seeded Dublin Coffman in a regional semifinal May 27. The winner faces third-seeded Olentangy Liberty or fourth-seeded Dublin Jerome in a regional final Saturday, May 30, at Columbus Academy. The Wolves beat Liberty 4-2 on April 2 and defeated Jerome 11-2 on April 27.

The regional champion advances to a state semifinal Wednesday, June 3, at Kings Mills Kings, where it will face Cincinnati Moeller, Cincinnati Sycamore, Cincinnati St. Xavier or Loveland.

The Wolves defeated Moeller 11-5 on April 25.
