Wolves Step-up to Help Fellow Student-Athlete

 HELP US HELP KILBOURNE STUDENT-ATHLETE DREW GEORGE AND HIS FAMILY

As many of you know, Drew George, a sophomore at WKHS, was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. Since Drew’s diagnosis in the early fall, he was admitted into the hospital and has been there ever since. He has been undergoing a very intense chemotherapy treatment and will continue this treatment for the next 6 months. Drew made it home for a few days over Christmas is now back in the hospital for his second round of treatment.

The doctors have told Drew and his family that if he is able to come home again he needs to come home to a clean, germ free environment, due to the risk of infection. The home is over 30 years old. Friends and family in the community have really rallied. New carpet was installed, rooms are being painted, and hardwood floors have been put in. I am currently working with a contractor as well as Lowe’s to possibly get some new countertops and cabinets for their home. We are also trying to provide a new dishwasher for them as well.

Ok...here is where our LAX team and families comes in. I would like to ask our team families to make a donation (of course optional) in any amount, per family.

After I hear from the contractor and Lowe’s, if they are not able to provide the products/delivery, and installation at no cost, I could get an estimate on one or more items and what the cost would be. With donations from our lacrosse team families, we could possibly buy one or more of the above for Drew and his family.

We are currently waiting to hear back from the contractor as well as Lowe’s and was going to wait to send this email. However, I thought the sooner the better to get this out to all of you. I am hopeful that our lacrosse family can support Drew and his family during this difficult time.

If you would like to make a donation, please just drop it off in my mailbox. Again, this is totally optional. If you would like to write a check please make them payable to: Cathy Watson. I will be sure to provide an updated email of what the Lacrosse Team has purchased for them.

***Donations can be dropped off at our house: 7592 Southview Ct., (When you head into Oldstone Crossing, just take a LEFT at the cut thru. We are on the court just left of Worthington Hills.)
