Vikings win 6-3!

The Viking A team concluded their day at the Davis Tournament, by defeating the Chico State Wildcats 6-3.  Two former Vikings, Evan Birdsall and Evan Robnett played for Chico, and while the Wildcats got off to a first-half 2-1 lead, the former Vikings and their brothers could not hold off the Vikings who finally started to "click" on offense in the second half, outscoring Chico 5-1 in the second frame.  Cory Callahan scored two of the second half goals. Chris Banks and Jake McIntyre each added a goal, and Octavio Martinez had the shot of the day, a tremendous catch and quick shot goal, leaping high into the air to grasp a pass from Chris Banks and while in mid-air, quickly shot and scored, while simultaneously being hit by a defenseman.  The victory secured a winning record (2-1) for the tournament against three Division I teams.
