Coach Michelle Mitchell was born in Upstate New York, in a small town, Sodus, NY. She began playing lacrosse in 2000 at Five Finger Lakes Community College and then transferred to SUNY Brockport from 2002-2003. She played for 2 years there and then Graduated in 2004 with a Teaching Degree in Physical Education. There were no jobs available in New York after her graduation so she began substitute teaching, was a life guard during the summer, bartender and a coach. 2005-2007 became an Assistant Varisty Coach in Webster, NY. In August 2007, Michelle moved to Las Vegas to teach P.E. at Levitt M.S. and began coaching local high school team, Centennial. In 2009, she coached Centennial to a state championship and then did the same in 2010 and 2011. In 2009, she also began the Vegas Travel Team with Katy Wieser. In the Spring of 2010 Michelle Mitchell also played on the UNLV Women's Lacrosse Team and she also started middle school team/league with Katy Wieser. In 2011, Michelle began working at Escobedo Middle School and also became and assistant coach for Northside middle school program with Ashley Jean. In 2012, Coach Michelle Mitchell became the UNLV Women's Lacrosse Coach and still continues to coach Centennial. Her Goals: To continue to grow Women's Lacrosse in Las Vegas!! Centennial to win Las Vegas's annual tournament, Best of the West (Which she accomplished this year) Centennial to have an undefeated season and go on to win their 4th state championship UNLV to go on to Nationals and win.
