To:  Spring Lake Lacrosse Club Student-Athletes, Parents, and Staff
From:  Nathan Gates, President

On behalf of the Spring Lake board and associates, we want to officially welcome everyone to the 2021 lacrosse season!  We have a great group of returning leadership, coaching staff, and volunteer network to help make 2021 a safe, and successful season for all.

The board and its associates would like to extend Myron Molotky a huge thank you for the service of board member, coach, volunteer, and out-going President, for all the forward-thinking and leadership given over the past several years.  Many new and exciting opportunities exist in this program due to his efforts.  Myron, thank you and best to you and your family in the future.  Listen for Myron in the press box at home games offering his famous "Welcome to the shipyard!".

As acting President, I want to offer some insight as to the current state of the club.

#1 - We have a very strong base of student-athlete participation.  This is not a secret!  Spring Lake lacrosse is a culture in this community that continues to build momentum every year.  It's a fun and exciting sport that is offered in a safe and educational setting which is positively contagious!
#2 - We have great coaches and volunteers.  Coach Doug Sharp and Coach Erika Kurili, respectively, continue to build a top-down program with the student-athlete's development as top priority.
#3 - We are fiscally responsible and conservative.  We are 100% self-funded, so every dollar that comes in contributes towards annualized operational costs.  We work hard to make the fees competitive and responsible relative to covering the costs of the club.  We continue to ask for your support through registration fees, sponsorship opportunities, and donation gifts.
#4 - We have a strong, developing network of volunteers.  Nothing happens with this club without the volunteers that step forward each year to help coach, organize events, line fields, set up for games, etc.  We need more!  Operational needs are an on-going challenge, and we ask for more volunteers.  Please email and ask how you can be of service for the 2021 season.  Many continued thanks in advance!
#5 - Registration is open!  Please sign up and be a part of the 2021 season.  The registration link is active on the website.  It's worth noting that by registering, the club can appropriately staff, schedule games and venues, and prepare for the upcoming season with enough advanced notice so that once we get up and running in the spring of 2021, we are ready to go without delay!  Much preparation is required to make each season a success, so please don't hesitate to register now.  Of course, many things in the state of our world are unpredictable these days, so if refunds are required, the pledge is to refund as expeditiously as possible should that become a need.

We are moving forward with developing a plan of action in preparation for the 2021 Spring Lake lacrosse season!  We remain positive and optimistic that we will see Spring Lake student-athletes on the lacrosse fields in 2021.  We look forward to seeing everyone in the future and trust that all will take measures to remain safe and healthy in the days ahead.   We will continue to update you as we generate more information.

Go Lakers!

Nathan Gates, President
