To All Families of the 2019 Laker Lacrosse Program,

WOW…what a great season! There were so many accomplishments by both our girls’ and boys’ programs with success on the field and great sportsmanship in conference play, playoffs and tournament games this year. There were many significant moments, honors, and Laker Pride examples all season long.

Overall, our program record was an outstanding 139-61-6

Our Varsity Boys finished 14-3 with a Conference Championship! This is a testament to the caliber of our players, who also work hard to maintain high GPA’s in the classroom while earning multiple All State, All Conference and All Academic awards. SL Lacrosse has four players are moving on to play college lacrosse-Noah Verlinde (Marquette Univ), Dominik Molotky (Ithaca College), Colby Brown (Illinois Wesleyan) and Sean Carrns (Davenport).

Our Varsity Girls finished 11-7! Their post season play was impressive, and it will be fun to watch this young team develop over the next few years. For the fourth year in a row, the team achieved Academic All-State recognition.

*The Wall has been built and the ShipYard is open!! Please make sure your players get out throughout the summer to continue working on their skills! Please leave both fields in better condition than when you arrived so that we can continue with this privilege!

Now that the season has ended perhaps the most important thing you can do is to keep your kids’ sports in perspective and focus on all the wonderful things they get out of playing lacrosse. Give them a big hug and say “I’m proud of you” because their dedication to school and being an athlete is tough and should be recognized!

The success of the teams also came with so much support from YOU – the families and our amazing coaches and managers. Our program wants to take this opportunity to thank you for all you have done this season. To all the parents and families of the players who will return next year, we are looking forward to another successful year in 2020! We look forward to being able to count on you again.

The Jarred Coleman Tribute game showed us 301 Laker Strong at its’ best…thank you for the love and support on a special night honoring #22.

To all the parents and families of the Seniors, we will miss you. We wish you all the best as you go off to conquer the world and hope you will return next season to enjoy some games! YOU are our Foundation!

Please click/paste the link below for a quick survey where you can share your experiences and ideas…we appreciate that you will take the time to have a voice in our program.

(Additional surveys can be taken for each child in your family that participated this year)

As a reminder we will now move to Fall Registration, so please look for that information once the school year begins. Communication will flow through SportsEngine emails, the SL Lacrosse Website and our FaceBook pages. Please follow all of the news with our program.

We will have summer programs introducing our 1/2 program, Learn to Play and Coaching clinics later this summer and throughout the Fall.

Finally, a HUGE THANK YOU to Susan Vinkemulder and Traci Verlinde who have retired this year from the SL Lacrosse Board. The countless hours and dedication will be truly missed. Your impact on the program will resonate for years to come!

GO LAKERS!
