SBCC Men's Lacrosse Club Forming

Bookmark and Share Printer Friendly Oct. 28, 2011

File PhotoSanta Barbara, CA - A men's lacrosse club is forming at Santa Barbara City College. Full-time SBCC students interested in playing men's lacrosse in the spring should fill out the Player Info Form. Team officers Jack Gish and Nick Sheets will get the contact information as it's submitted and let prospective teammates know what to do next.

The club has two options for the spring season. It may join with independent teams the Friars Lacrosse Club (San Diego), Tustin Lacrosse Club (Orange County), Conejo Valley Lacrosse Club (Thousand Oaks) and Shooterz Lacrosse Club (San Diego) to form a league. This option could include a post-season play-off format. SBCC may also be independent the first season and pick up scrimmages with MCLA D2 teams.

A coach will be retained once the first 15 full-time SBCC students commit to the program. Team dues will be the primary source of funding and the amount has yet to be set but will be announced soon. Questions may be directed to Jack Gish or Nick Sheets.
