  SBCC Draw

Carpinteria, CA - The Vaqueros played their second game of the Santa Barbara Shootout and picked up a 19-1 win over University of Portland in a non-league game at the Santa Barbara Polo Club. It was a 13-0 halftime lead for SBCC before the Vaqueros mixed up positions and slowed it down, to winning the second half 6-1.

Sophomore Maya Sordoillet (Mill Valley, CA) led SBCC in scoring with four goals.  Ten SBCC players contributed goals and assists in the contest. The Vaqueros generated 35 shots on offense for 54.3% shooting.

First year head coach Paul Ramsey liked the quick start for the second game in a row.  "The excitment in the team for this path to play is real among these players and they are taking advantage," explained Ramsey.

SBCC improved to 2-0 while Portland dropped to 0-1. SBCC opens Western Women's Lacrosse League (WWLL) Central play when they face Cal State Northridge in a 10:00am game at the polo club. The Matadors come into the game 0-2 after dropping their first two rounds of Santa Barbara Shootout games.
