Webb Holds End of Year Banquet, Announces Awards

FIVE PLAYERS EARN ALL CONFERENCE 1ST TEAM HONORS

Webb hosted it's fourth season ending awards banquet to honor the team and its season, as well as to present awards to players from the team and to also present All Conference awards as well.

The Warriors had five selections, all unanimous 1st Teamers: Antonio Jones, Jacob Ragland, Cedric Spence, Rufus Terry, and Christian Tilley.  It is the second year in a row the Warriors had five players receive honors, while five 1st Teamers is the most ever by the program in one year.

Jones was named an Honorable Mention honoree in 2012.  He finished the season second on the team with 20 goals, including a career high five against Northwood in the season opener.

Ragland finished the year with 15 goals and 11 assists for 26 points on the season, good for second on the team.  He finished his career with four points (3G 1A) against Roxboro Community School.

Spence was a 2012 1st Team selection.  He posted the most caused turnovers (45) on the team, and also collected 60 ground balls on the season.  He also scored his first career goal against Riverside High School at Riverside.

Terry led the team in goals (22), second in assists (12), and led the team in ground balls (129) as well as grabbing the second most ground balls (33).  He was a 2012 and a 2011 1st Team selection as an LSM, while also receiving Honorable Mention honors in 2010.  

Tilley was a 2012 1st Team selection and also a 2010 Honorable Mention selection for the Warriors.  He finished the year with 176 saves, stopped 0.704 percent of the shots he saw, and set school records for save percentage in a season and goals allowed (74) and GAA (6.309).

Offensive MVP: Antonio Jones, attack
Defensive MVP: Cedric Spence, defense
Most Improved Player: Antonio Bowden, midfield, and Reggie Campos, midfield/goalie
Warrior Coach's Award: Teddy Anderson, midfield, and Reggie Campos, midfield/goalie
Team MVP: Rufus Terry, LSM

Congratulations to all award winners and to the rest of the Warriors team on their successfull 2013 season.
