Hogtowne travelled to Ponte Vedra this weekend to take on the Jacksonville Armadillos. Brian Jones put the LCH on the board first with a nice 10 yard rip from the outside. Jacksonville would score twice in the 2nd quarter and the Armadillo defense held Hogtowne scoreless in the 2nd period. Jacksonville would strike first in the 2nd half to take a 3-1 lead. Hogtowne would answer with a pair of goals assisted by Danny Stevens, the first by Danny Hogan on a man-up opportunity, the 2nd by Tony Williams. The Hogtowne defense, anchored by the exceptional goalie play of Tom Groenenger had a great day. Haushalter, Schoneck, Woods, Anderson, Nast and Goren limited Jacksonville's scoring opportunities in crucial times in the 4th quarter. Schoneck and Woods came up with especially big takeaways when their number was called on isolations. Hogtowne's offense came alive and poured in 5 goals in the final frame. Williams, Barros, Hogan and Supraner all chipped in, but by far the sweetest was Brian Corrente's 15 yard low to high rip that dinged off of the crossbar before catching the back of the net. Hogtowne prevails 8-5 in a key FLL North Division battle.
