Tampa got on the board first and led 4-2 after the first quarter.  Late in the 2nd quarter attackman Danny Stevens capped a fast break with an impressive diving effort.  Two Tampa defenseman converged on Danny and sent him spinning through the air but he was able to convert the goal to cut the early Thunder lead to 6-4.  The Thunder would score again prior to half and take a 7-4 lead into the intermission.

The 2nd half would be a different story.  Midfielder Craig Miller beat the Tampa goalie off-side hip to start a 2nd half scoring barrage.   Highlighted by LSM Chris Capizzi's falling-down game-tying goal, The Fightin Mooks would score 11 2nd half goals to Tampa's one.

In all, 11 different Hogtowne players notched points in the contest.  The defense, led by the stellar play of Goalie Tom Groenenger stifled Tampa's offense the entire final 30 minutes of play.
