Comeback 2.0: Hogtowne Mooks 12 Tampa Thunder 10Dec. 9, 2006 The Hogtowne Lacrosse Club made the return trip to St. Petersburg to again face the Tampa Thunder. The first half, it was all Thunder as Tampa's offense was too much for the Hogtowne defense. Tampa held an 8-3 advantage midway through the 2nd quarter. The Mook's offense came alive with the attack trio of Montgomery, Sparazza and Digiore starting a mini-run that would keep HLC within striking distance. Montgomery fed Sparazza for a well placed shot, then Digiore blew up a Thunder midfielder off the faceoff to start a transition that would lead to a 2nd Sparazza goal. The defense clamped down in the 2nd half, allowing only 2 goals, the offense did their part chipping in another 6. Jeff Rant (2g, 1a), Brian Montgomery (2g, 1a), Jim Sparazza (3g), Sean Juresic (2g) led the charge on offense. Scott Ramey, Kevin Schoneck and goalie Jeff Goren (2 goals against) had great games on the other end of the field. Jim Sparazza was named Montezuma Player of the Week. Sparazza was 3/3 shooting and had several key groundballs. HLC will be in action against FLL South Division foes Palm Beach and Fools Lacrosse Club at the crossover weekend on January 6th and 7th in Jacksonville, FL. Many thanks to the Thunder for their hospitality after the game. Good times had by all.
