2012 SELC Tournament at AHS

Alpharetta High School is proud to be hosting men’s college lacrosse playoffs again in 2012. The Southeastern Lacrosse Conference will play its championship tournament April 27-29, with two games here at Alpharetta on Friday the 27^th at 5:30 and 8:00 PM.   The second game will feature the D1 South West conference champion versus the South East runner-up.  The tournament will continue on Saturday and Sunday at Northview High School and students in a lacrosse jersey get in free all weekend! 

This year also marks the 25^th anniversary of the Southern Lacrosse Conference (SELC) as a collegiate club league based in the Southeastern United States promoting non-NCAA lacrosse.  It has grown to feature 39 member colleges with over 1,400 players.  Sixteen teams will be invited to the SELC Championships with eight coming from Division 1 and eight from Division II. The league will crown two champions on April 29, 2012 who will be automatically qualified for the MCLA National Championships to be held in Greensville, SC May 14-19.  The SELC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The proceeds from the Championship Tournament are used to defray the costs to the college teams who are mostly self-funded. 

Tournament tickets are $20 and will be on sale at the gate April 27, 2012 at AHS Stadium.  This ticket is a weekend pass good for all three days of the Tournament.  Please attend and show how Alpharetta supports SELC Lacrosse!   For all the tournament details including games, times and teams, visit: www.selctournament.com.
