Alpharetta Varsity team makes it to final four at Georgia Tech Turkey Shootout Tournament

This past weekend the AHS Varsity Lacrosse team continued their good form to reach the semi-final stage at the annual Georgia Tech Turkey shooutout tournament. The team had a particulary strong showing on Saturday in winning their bracket by beating Lovett, Lassiter and Wheeler and in doing so advanced to the Sunday championship round.

On Sunday the team played their first game against Peachtree Ridge in driving sleet and bone chilling temperatures. Our boys won a tightly contested game by a 2 goal margin to advance to the semi-final stage. Unfortunately the teams undefeated run ended in the final four when they were beaten by the eventual champions from Lambert.

The tournament was excellent preperation for the upcoming season and the team continued to show that they are going to be a formidable force to be reckoned with during the regular season. By winning their 4 games this team now has a pre-season record of 13-1. A special thanks to Parent Coaches Fran Schefer and John Adams for coordinating the team and enduring the less than perfect weather. Go Raiders!
