“I chose SDSU because of the opportunity to be part of a new program,” Mills said. “I also love the coach, Kylee White. It is a good fit for me academically and athletically, and I love that I'm still close to home.”
San Diego State will debut its women’s lacrosse team in 2012 and will play in the six-team Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.
Mills, who plans to major in international business, had 71 goals and 11 assists last season when her La Costa Canyon team advanced to the CIF-San Diego quarterfinals before losing to Poway.
